How to Apply The CGCC Veterans' Services Office is the liaison between you, the veteran or dependent of a veteran, and the Department of Veterans Affairs. The office will provide you with the necessary paperwork to apply for your educational benefits. These are the steps you will need to take to start this process:
Step 1
Obtain all forms needed to apply for benefits at the CGCC Veterans' Services Office.
Step 2 Take ASSET (placement) test, if not already completed.
Step 3
Meet with a CGCC academic advisor to determine your program of study and select your classes within this program of study. Be certain to obtain a copy of this program of study checklist from your advisor. If the program of study you select has not been approved by the State Approving Agency, allow extra time for processing.
Step 4
Complete and submit necessary paperwork to the CGCC Veterans' Services Office. Select the appropriate chapter below to determine what you will need to submit. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader in order to open our forms. This software is free and can be downloaded from the Adobe website.
Step 5
Pay for your classes at the CGCC Fiscal Office by the payment due date you have been issued. If you are unable to pay by the due date, please contact our office.
Step 6
If your enrollment status changes, it is your responsibility to notify the CGCC Veterans' Services Office of this change in status. If you do not contact our office in a timely manner, it could increase your overpayment of benefits.
