CGCC Testing Services at the Pecos Campus provides academic and course placement testing to assist students as they pursue their career, educational, and personal goals.

Placement Testing - Required placement test for English, math and reading
  • Sample Questions for Placement Testing
  • Can I re-test on the placement test?  Per the Chandler-Gilbert Community College Catalog and Student Handbook:  Students will be permitted on re-test in English, reading or by math level after at least a 24-hour waiting period.  An additional re-test is permitted one year from the date of the student's original or re-test at any course placement testing site.

CELSA - English as a second language testing

Classroom Support Testing - make-up exams, online courses and disability-related accomodations.

Nursing Entrance Test (NET) - for students seeking admission into the Maricopa Nursing Program.

Proctor Testing - for non-CGCC students

 


   

Testing Regulations

All testers ARE REQUIRED to present a valid and current picture identification before testing (This includes students between the ages of 12-18).

Appointments are required for all placement testing (ASSET & ACCUPLACER) and NET exams. Students may reserve theirs through Online Appointment Reservation

For all exams, students must check-in at their designated appointment time.

Lockers are provided for your items (no electronic devices of any kind are permitted in the testing rooms). Lockers require a .25 cent refundable deposit.

Students who need special testing accommodations must be registered with the Disability Resources Office and must schedule and appointment for testing.

Saturday testing appointments will only be accepted by noon Thursdays. Site and location may vary. 

Only students who are testing and proctors are permitted in the Pecos Testing Center.  Children are not allowed in the testing center and children 18 years old and younger cannot be left unattended.  (AR 2.4.10) 

Academic Misconduct - You must adhere to MCCD Academic Misconduct (AR2.3.11) regulations that prohibit cheating.  Cheating includes, but not limited to, the use of unauthorized assistance in taking tests.  If you are suspected of academic misconduct your exam may be voided.  The matter will be referred to the faculty division chair for further review and if applicable, disciplinary action.

  • Students who have completed an approved placement exam (ACCUPLACER, ASSET or COMPASS) at another institution must have the official test scores sent from that institutions Testing Center.  Send to:  Chandler-Gilbert Community College - Testing Services, 2626 E. Information for CGCC Instructors


The Testing Center provides the following services to accommodate:  make-up exams for students who may have missed an exam due to extenuating circumstances such as death in family, illness, etc., students who have been referred by Disability Resources & Services (DRS) for testing accommodations, and hybrid/online courses.  We cannot accommodate full class rosters, retests, grade exams, or collect/distribute homework and/or handouts etc. 

Instructors may submit tests to the Testing Center in person, during our regular business hours, or online.  Exams may be submitted online through our Make-up Testing Request page (CGCC Campus ID & Password required).


Please note: If you have a student with special needs, they must be register in the DRS Office, please contact
College Student Services to confirm they are approved to take the test in the Testing Center (480) 857-5188.
