  Application & Registration Process

New and Returning Students
(New and returning students are those that have never attended CGCC or haven't attended the past Spring and Fall semesters.)

ALL students MUST create an account at prior to completing the following steps:

  1. NEW students will complete the Student Information Form to apply to CGCC.
    • Fill out the form online at My.maricopa.edu.
    • Pick up the Student Information Form at the admissions office at the Pecos Campus or the Williams Campus.
    • To qualify for in-state tuition and state financial assistance, students must provide documentation as proof of lawful presence in the United States under Proposition 300. Read more about Proposition 300 and download the Student Declaration Form at this site.
    • If you are an International Student, please visit the International Program website for application instructions.
  2. RETURNING students, who have not attended for two continuous semesters, will need to call CGCC at (480) 732-7320 to update residency information. After doing so, you will be able to register for classes. Arizona residents who fail to complete this step will be charged Out-of-State tuition.
  3. Take the placement test for English, Math and Reading at the Pecos Campus or the Williams Campus.
  4. Review the college catalog and browse the class schedule.
  5. Determine which course(s) you will sign up for based on major/program information and test scores.
  6. Discuss your major/program choices and course selections with an advisor at the Pecos Campus or the Williams Campus.
  7. Register for classes based on major requirements and course needs. If you are transferring from another college or university an official transcript must be sent directly from the institution you attended. A hand-carried transcript cannot be accepted for an official evaluation. Please contact your former institution to request an official transcript be sent directly to CGCC Records Office, 2626 East Pecos Road, Chandler, AZ 85225-2499. If you will be enrolling in programs at the Williams Campus, please have your transcript sent to 7360 East Tahoe Avenue, Mesa, AZ 85212.
    • Register online at My.maricopa.edu
    • Operator Assisted. Call (480) 732-7320 or (480) 988-8000.
  8. Determine if you are eligible for Financial Aid or Scholarships.
  9. Pay tuition and fees.
  10. Obtain a Parking Decal and ID card from the office of College Safety at either the Pecos Campus or Williams Campus.
  11. Purchase Textbooks from the Pecos Campus Bookstore or at the ASU Polytechnic Bookstore.

 
Current Students
(Currently registered students.)
  1. If you have determined your major, visit Checksheet Central to view your degree checksheet*.
  2. If you have not yet determined your major, visit the Career Center and take the Discover Assessment.
  3. Determine which courses you need for your major/program.
  4. Review the class schedule at My.maricopa.edu for course offerings. If you haven't already created an account you will need to do so.
  5. Discuss up-to-date major information, degree checksheet, discover assessment results and get assistance with course selection by meeting with an advisor at the Pecos Campus or the Williams Campus.
    *If you have changed your major since your last advisement session, please bring in your previous and current degree checksheets.
  6. Register for classes based on major requirements and course needs.
    • Register online at My.maricopa.edu
    • Operator Assisted. Call (480) 732-7320 or (480)988-8000.
  7. Determine if you are eligible for Financial Aid or Scholarships.
  8. Pay tuition and fees.
  9. Purchase Textbooks from the Pecos Campus Bookstore, or at the ASU Polytechnic Bookstore.

 
Transfer Students
  1. Complete the Student Information Form to apply to CGCC.

  2. Send official transcripts from institutions previously attended to the Office of Admissions and Records. If you will be enrolling in programs at the Williams Campus, please have your transcript sent to 7360 East Tahoe Avenue, Mesa, AZ 85212.
  3. Review the class schedule at My.maricopa.edu for course offerings. If you haven't already created an account you will need to do so.
  4. Bring unofficial transcripts and meet with an advisor at the Pecos Campus or the Williams Campus for unofficial transcript evaluation.
  5. Discuss major/program information and determine course needs with an advisor.
  6. Once transcript has been received by Admissions and Records, submit request for an official transcript evaluation to the Office of Admissions and Records.
  7. Register for classes based on major requirements and course needs.
    • Students transferring from a NON Maricopa Community Colleges District school need advisor approval for courses carrying prerequisites.
    • Please note: Students may register in person at the Pecos Campus, the Williams Campus, or at Sun Lakes Center.

  8. Determine if you are eligible for Financial Aid or Scholarships.
  9. Pay tuition and fees.

  10. Obtain a Parking Decal and ID card from the office of College Safety.
  11. Purchase Textbooks from the Pecos Campus Bookstore, or at the ASU Polytechnic Bookstore.
