STUDENT QUALITIES FOR SUCCESS

In order to achieve success in the nursing program, students should have:

  • excellent interpersonal skills
  • strong preparation in reading and math
  • excellent study habits
  • willingness and ability to spend additional time outside the classroom practicing skills in the nursing laboratory, reading textbooks and journals, and completing written materials for clinical preparation
  • good physical and mental health

Students must subscribe to the ideal of academic honesty and integrity and accept individual responsibility for their work.  Academic dishonesty is unacceptable and will result in sanction according to college policy.

All students are required to submit to a urine drug-screening test and must pass a fingerprint clearance for prior criminal record prior to admission to the program.
