Guidelines for Library Facilities

Library Study Rooms Policy
2008-2009

PURPOSE:
Study rooms are available for reserve in the CGCC Library. Students, faculty, and staff can reserve rooms for the following purposes:

  • To view video(s) for class
  • To work on group projects
  • To study (independently or in groups)
  • To record practice speeches using the video camera and VCR

HOW TO RESERVE:
Access services will put the day's reservations on the statistical page tacked by each room to indicate availabilty.

  • Students
    Students can reserve a study room two ways.
    1. Self-Reservation: Students can check a room's availability by looking at the sign-in sheet posted on the room number plaque. If a room is available, students can sign in and use the room.
    2. Advanced Reservation: Students can make a reservation up to one (1) week ahead of time by contacting Access Services at 480.857.5100.
  • Faculty and Staff
    Contact Access Services at 480.857.5100 to reserve room for anytime during the current semester.

USAGE RULES:

  • Students may reserve a study room (self or advanced) for two (2) hours only. If no one else wants the room at the end of the two hour period, the person(s) in the room may continue to use it until the next reservation/need.
  • Once made, reservation times cannot be changed.
  • Study room reservations will be held for 15 minutes before being released to the general public.

REMINDERS:
The Library is not responsible for anything left in the study rooms.

 

Library Instruction Classroom

1.  The library instruction classroom is for bibliographic instruction presented by library faculty.

2.  Appointments are to be made with any librarian.

Food and drink are prohibited in the Library.

Library Posting Policy

1. The Library Bulletin Board outside the Copy Room (L115) is for posting of both Library and non-library materials.

2. Materials to be posted must not exceed 8.5 by 11 inches, unless approved ahead of time.

3. Materials must be approved by a permanent library staff member and must be stamped with the requested posting date, a removal date and the staff member's initials.  The removal date will be two weeks from the posting date unless otherwise approved.

4. The Bulletin Board has been designated as the location for non-library postings in the Library.  Please do not post notices, etc. elsewhere in the Library.  No posting of materials is permitted on the Rotunda walls.
