Summer 2004
  • Develop timeline for self-study
  • Identify steering committee
  • Hold retreat for steering committee
  • Order reading and reference materials for steering committee
  • Plan the website
Fall 2004
  • Formal announcements about plan to college community
  • Continue training of steering committee
  • Identify criterion committee members
  • Determine how students and community members will be involved
  • Develop the website
  • Plan for kickoff event and spring activities
Spring 2005
  • Submit plan to HLC/NCA for review/approval
  • Kickoff event for all employees
  • Follow-up presentations to all major college committees and groups (i.e. PEC, PCAC, Faculty Association, MAT, PSA, Williams Coordinating Council, ASCGCC, …)
  • Criterion committees begin meeting regularly
  • Data collection
  • Send steering committee to HLC/NCA annual meeting
Summer 2005
  • Steering committee will meet several times to reflect on what has been accomplished and establish a plan for the coming year
  • Criterion committees may have summer projects
Fall 2005
  • Karen Solomon visit Nov. 17-18 postponed

  • Criterion committees meet regularly
  • Surveys, focus groups, and other data collection continues
  • Data evaluation and review begins
Spring 2006

  • Steering committee reviews and approves self-study report

Fall 2006
  • Visit Nov. 6, 7, 8, 2006
  • Team report draft arrives in early December for “errors of fact” check
  • Finalize team visit logistics (i.e. flights, hotel, food, computers, workspace, schedule, …)
  • Distribute copies of self-study report to employees
  • Presentations to all major college committees and groups regarding results of self-study
  • Other dissemination activities
  • Finalize resource room
  • Finalize website
  • Late fall visitation by HLC/NCA team
  • Assist team with transportation

  • Update website to include report from visiting team and any other archival information
