I find it mildly humorous that in this "English Only" climate it is wildly popular to pronounce Germann as "Germaine" or "Germane" instead of how it is actually spelled. I think every resident should make a conscious effort to pronounce the language correctly, as spelled, and politely correct those who do not. If the people want to pronounce it differently, they can petition the city to change the spelling.
