Students Check List:Announcements Students are entitled to 10 announcements. They will be available for pick-up by April 7th, 2008, in the CGCC Bookstore. The phone number is 480-732-7350. Additional invitations can be picked up from the Vice President of Student Affairs office beginning April 23, 2008. Caps and Gowns We order general sizes, but can accommodate specific gown size requirements from petite to plus sizes. You may pick up your cap and gown in the CGCC Bookstore beginning May 5th. The bookstore hours are: Monday - Thursday 7:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. Friday 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon. Phone Number: 480-732-7350 If you cannot pick up your cap and gown at any of these times, please contact Julie Palinsky at 480-732-7341. Honors Cords Honors cords are a decoration that signifies academic distinction. Students who are graduating with distinction (3.5-3.699), high distinction (3.7-3.899), and highest distinction (3.9-4.0) may pick up cords from the bookstore at no cost. Graduate GPA's consist of all grades for all classes used for graduation. (A list of Honors students will be provided to the bookstore.) Phi Theta Kappa PTK stoles and tassels will be available in the CGCC Bookstore. Please contact PTK Advisor Ernie Chavez at 480-857-5141. To purchase a stole and tassel, go to http://www.ptk.org and click on the "Recognitions" link. You will find it in the upper right hand corner of the website. Click on the "Graduation Specials" link, then click on the "Phi Theta Kappa Honors and Graduation Regalia" link. You will need a credit or debit card and your membership number to purchase these items. If you do not remember your membership number, please call 1-800-946-9996. You are a member of the Alpha Sigma Nu chapter at Chandler-Gilbert Community College. If you have class mates or friends that are members of PTK and are interested in ordering, you may want to place your order together to save on shipping! Chandler-Gilbert Community College Phi Theta Kappa members are allowed to wear the stole and tassel at graduation. The double honor cord is for chapters that do not allow students to wear the stole and tassel; you do not need to purchase this item!
Reception in Student Center Pavilion Light refreshments provided for our graduates and their guests. We encourage you and your guest(s) to attend the reception and enjoy the time to visit with other students, faculty and staff. The reception will be held in the Student Center Pavilion. Special Accommodations for Graduates and Family Members Our event is outdoors on the CGCC Pecos Mall. If you need special seating for any reason, please give my office a call at 480-732-7322. Graduates walk up and down stairs when diplomas are awarded. If you or anyone in your family need special arrangements, or special parking, the Vice President of Student Affairs office at the number listed above. Pecos Campus. Photographer A photographer will be on site. You can have group pictures or family pictures taken. Payment arrangements are made directly with the photographer. If you would like to have pictures taken, plan to do so between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. The group photo of the graduates will be posted on the CGCC website. Security/Parking For any arrangements that need to be made, please call Robert Everett, Director of College Safety, at 480-732-7280. Please park in the west lot of the Pecos Campus. Rainy Day Conditions If it rains on May 9, 2008, the graduation ceremony will be postponed and a future date will be announced.
