Amanda Haug

Amanda Haug is a molecular biology major, who is graduating with an Associate in Science degree from CGCC and will transfer to Arizona State University in the fall.

Throughout her education at CGCC, Amanda was involved in a variety of activities. As a member of the International Honor Society, Phi Theta Kappa, she volunteered her time assisting with various Phi Theta Kappa functions such as Vessels of Hope, Zoolights, Fall & Spring Member Orientations and Induction ceremonies, to name a few.

She is also a member of the Honors Program and has participated in service-learning projects. In fall 2007, Amanda combined her honors project with service learning and developed a science experiment for two classes of second graders at Quartz Hill Elementary School in Gilbert. She also provides assistance at the CGCC Learning Center, tutoring fellow students in the areas of Biology and Chemistry.

A re-entry student, Amanda is married and the mother of two children. Despite the challenges of raising a family and attending school full-time, faculty members say her work ethic, dedication, and classroom performance are a testament to her commitment to excellence. Amanda represents the values Chandler-Gilbert Community College strives to instill in all students.
