2008-09 General Scholarship Opportunities

The deadline date to apply for the scholarships in this section was May 1, 2008. As a result, applications are no longer available. However, please review the various opportunities below as they will become available again for the 2009-10 academic year. We anticipate the 2009-10 General Scholarship Application to be available on this web site in February 2009.


CGCC Academic Scholarship
Applicant must have 12 hours of above 100 level courses completed at CGCC. Also must have a 3.0 minimum GPA at CGCC. Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours (above 100 level courses) at CGCC for 08-09. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, a legal resident of the United States, or have lawful immigration status. The CGCC Scholarship Committee selects recipients.

Chandler Horizon Rotary Scholarship
Applicants must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours at CGCC, have financial need, be a resident of the city of Chandler, have a 3.0 or higher GPA at CGCC, and have completed between 1-24 credit hours at CGCC. Preference will be given to re-entry students and single parents. The CGCC Scholarship Committee selects recipients.

Josefina Arias de Gutierrez Scholarship
Applicants must be majoring in Exercise Science, Physical Education, Kinesiology, or Exercise and Wellness. Additionally, must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours at CGCC, have a 3.0 cumulative GPA at CGCC, and must be a U.S. citizen, a legal resident of the United States, or have lawful immigration status. Fall recipients must complete all classes with a 3.0 cumulative GPA in order to remain eligible for Spring. Preference will be given to Hispanic students. The donor selects recipient.

Otto and Edna Neely Scholarship
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, an Arizona resident, have a GPA of 2.5 or better at CGCC, and demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to single parents and single independent students. Recipients must enroll in a minimum of 6 hours at CGCC. The CGCC Scholarship Committee selects recipients.

Special Note: Applicants must complete the
2008-09 FAFSA in addition to the scholarship application. Both the scholarship application and processed FAFSA must be received by the CGCC Financial Aid Office by the priority deadline of May 1, 2008, or as soon after as possible in order to be considered for award.

SRP Electric Utility Technology Scholarship
Applicant must be accepted into the CGCC Electric Utility Technology program and enroll full time at CGCC for the 2008-09 academic year. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, a legal resident of the United States, or have lawful immigration status. Recipients of Fall funds will need to maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA at CGCC in order to be eligible for Spring. The CGCC Scholarship Committee will select recipients.
