Throughout February culminating in March, Plastic Water Bottles Sculpture, Library Rotunda
Phoenix found-object artist Joe Willie Smith will work with students to create a sculpture made out of plastic bottles in the library rotunda. Students will have the opportunity to write on or put things inside of the bottles as a part of an activity related to their curricula.

By picking up trash along roadways in the Queen Creek area, students will see firsthand the types and volume of consumer waste that get improperly discarded. They will also have the opportunity to observe the collection of large-appliance and hazardous wastes, and they will learn about the inception of the clean up day in response to the improper disposal of waste in the open desert.
