Interdisciplinary Activities on Sustainability

Campus Sustainability Day On Oct 25, 2006
Co-facilitators: Mark Mason, Pushpa Ramakrishna, Chris Schnick, Paul Petrequin

The SCUP Campus Sustainability Day was celebrated at CGCC with the following events:
1. Panel discussion on 'Global Sustainability'
2. Webcast from SCUP featuring Grand Valley State University, Harvard University Pima Community College and Arizona State University.
3. Student Discussions in small groups followed by whole group discussion

Students of Biology, a learning community of History and English students, and Computer Programming students participated in this event. Student discussion revolved around key issues:
How can students change/modify their own personal lifestyles with sustainability?
How can the campus incorporate sustainable practices?
The students shared their thoughts on these issues in a rich and meaningful discussion.
