Chandler-Gilbert Community College Lineman's Competition March 27th, 2009 9am-4pm
Chandler-Gilbert Community College welcomes you to the second annual Collegiate Lineman's Competition. This rodeo style competition will include speed climbing, cross arm change, C-1 framing, and written tests that will challenge competing teams from colleges across the United States.
Purpose: Host a Lineman Competition Event that will unite line schools, utility companies and utility suppliers and allow student to demonstrate their skills.
Desired Outcomes:
Establish a regional event for multiple schools to participate vs. single eventsIncrease employer support to the program within utility industry Attract more students to the EUT program at CGCC (EUT PROGRAM INFORMATION) Goal:
Establish a lineman competition event for recognition by NJCAA championship as a competitive sport through a series of regional events where champions will compete at the national lineman rodeo in Kansas by 2010.
Long Term Goals: Have the event be recognized by the NJCAA as a competitive sport to be included in the association's championship event series Establish regional hubs from which winners will compete in the National Lineman Rodeo Creates a one-stop recruitment venue for employers Increase Advisory Council Outcomes Attract and incorporate utility vendors and suppliers to network and increase involvement with the programm
