Student Support Services Mission To provide the CGCC student body programs and services that support student retention and success. Early detection, intervention, assessment, short-term support and crisis management of student and campus issues keep the entire college environment safe. Program Role & Function To provide a wide range of support services to all CGCC student's in order to assist them in their academic and personal goals while attending college. This professional licensed team of Behavioral Health Consultants (BHC's) are able to meet the needs of CGCC's diverse student population. - Difficulty adjusting or transitioning to college
- Explore and develop personal growth
- Feelings of been overwhelmed, or stressed
- Have difficulty focusing, and achieving academic goals
- Need support with goal setting
Suggestions as to when you should make a referral: - An individuals' behavior or verbal statements that can be interpreted as being harmful to self or others
- Upon receiving written comments (including e-mail) that indicate a student is under stress or exhibiting poor problem solving
- If students verbalizes wanting to drop class or alter academic goals
- Instructors observations, classroom behavior that appears socially unacceptable or interferes with the learning environment
