Program Description

  • Supports an interdisciplinary program of study
  • Provides intensive study of written and oral communication skills in different contexts including:
    • interpersonal communication
    • small group interaction
    • team building
    • problem solving
    • public speaking and presentation skills
    • conflict resolution
    • assertiveness
    • leadership
  • Develops skills to enhance professional, social, and personal interactions and to become more competitive and competent in the workforce
  • Complements the AA degree, partially fulfill the requirement of the AGEC A core requirements endorsement at Arizona state universities
  • Provides additional knowledge and expertise for students holding other academic degrees

What is this Program?

Students are provided with an opportunity to:

  • Develop specific communication skills important in the workplaceAdvance in current job or profession
  • Meet more than half the requirements in the AGEC endorsement for transfer to state universities
  • Provide a value added component to complement the AA degree
