The Maricopa County Community College District Associate in General Education (AGS) degree is recommended for students whose educational goals require flexibility. The AGS allows students to choose any elective courses numbered 100 or above to complete the degree. Therefore, this degree may be less appropriate for students who intend to transfer to a baccalaureate-granting institution.

Completion of the AGS degree and a minimum 2.00 G.P.A. on a 4.00 scale for Arizona residents and a minimum 2.5 G.P.A. on a 4.0 scale for non-residents exempts students from Arizona University Admission Requirements.
