Women's Volleyball

The volleyball team is off to a solid start.  The team is 9-2 overall with a 3-1 conference record.  Last week they defeated the Scottsdale Artichokes (30-24,30-23,21-30,30-22) in conference and 6 out of conference foes while only losing once to the College of southern Idaho.  They won in straight games against

Ridgewater CC, Northwest CC, Trinidad CC, Midland CC, Casper CC, and Sheridan CC in the Eastern Arizona tournament over the weekend.  Coach Hiapo reports that the team is starting to come together and that Jenna Mailou and Rachel Nelson have exceeded all expectations this year.

Rachel Nelson is among lead leaders in Kills with 4.09 per game and Jenna Mailou is among league leaders in assists with 9.59 per game.  This week they will play at Phoenix College on Wednesday (7pm) and in the Scottsdale tournament this weekend starting on Thursday.

Men's Soccer

The Men's team is off to a 1-3 start this season.  There have been more than a few bright spots against the blemishes to the record.  Last week the men lost to Mesa CC and Pima CC.  Pima is ranked nationally and won 2-0 against a very spirited Coyote squad.  We were lead by Captain Jesse Baker and Brennan Cozens who anchored down the back. Pima (5-0) scored in the 28th and 45th minute of the game to win the game 2-0.

Jesse Baker is among league leaders in scoring leaders with 2 goals and 1 assist while Keeper Patrick Marcus is among league leaders with a 2.00 GAA (goals against average).  The men play this week on Wednesday at South Mountain and at home against Yavapai on Saturday at 6PM.

Women's Soccer

The Women's team is off to a 2-3 start with wins against Mesa CC and Glendale CC in the recent weeks.  This week they were lead by Captain Kayla Poe. She and Meagan Davis kept the coyotes in each of the losses this week against Cochise and Pima.  The Coyotes had there chances but could not finish. They will have a much needed 13 day break.

Lisa Anderson is among the league leaders with 5 total points (2 goals, 1 assist).  The Women are not in action for 13 days and will return against Paradise Valley.
