Enrollment Timeline

To enroll in the Automated Manufacturing Systems (AMS) Program, it is recommended that the assessment and enrollment process begin in early April for Fall and late October for Spring. Students are encouraged to take advantage of early registration each semester.

Enrollment Process

Enrollment into the AMS Program is as easy as 1,2,3,..:
  1. The first step is to take the ASSET placement test at either the Pecos or Williams Campus of CGCC. Students must take the ASSET Block Exam that includes English, Reading, and the Numerical Skills test. Based on assessment scores, the AMS Academic Advisor can establish any prerequisite courses you will be required to take prior to the AMS program-of-study and to register you in courses.

If you are unable to take the test at CGCC or at one of the Maricopa Community Colleges, call (480) 988-8000 for instructions and the location of the nearest ACT/ASSET Assessment Center in your area. Regardless of where you take your course placement assessments, a copy of your test results should be taken with you to the advisement session. Assessment scores are valid for two years only.

EXCEPTIONS: Students with prior college coursework MAY be exempt from the placement tests. Make an appointment with an AMS Academic Advisor at CGCC at the Williams Campus (988-8000) to review your transcripts and determine if you are eligible for exemption.

  2. If applicable, request official college transcripts from all prior colleges be sent: Students with prior college credit can have their transcripts reviewed to determine if any previously taken courses can apply to the AMS Program. Have the official transcript sent to the address below. Request a transcript evaluation form from the A & R office.

Chandler-Gilbert Community College @ Williams Campus
    Attn: Admissions and Records Office
    Aviation & Technology Center
    7360 E. Tahoe Avenue

Official transcripts must be sent directly from the issuing institution to CGCC's address above. Unofficial (student copy) transcripts may be sent with the packet Forms for advisement purposes only, but will not be accepted in lieu of official transcripts.

  3. Complete and return the Student Information Form, Supplemental Program Information Form, copy of ASSET scores and/or unofficial copy of college transcripts to:
